JEWELRY MAKING MATERIALS:
We use mainly 925 sterling silver, 18-karat gold, natural freshwater pearls and gemstones into our designs. We combine the luxury metals with carefully handcrafted pearls and stone pieces to create our elegant, unique and contemporary jewelry. We would like our customers to be able to wear fine jewelry with a lower cost for their daily wear.
Fine silver or ”99.9 % silver” is nearly pure silver, which is exceptionally soft and malleable, but prized for its brilliant shine. Sterling silver is an alloy composed of 92.5% silver and 7.5 % of other metals. It’s known for its lustrous appearance and durability.
18-karat gold denotes that 75 % is pure gold. An 18-karat gold plated jewelry has a thick layer of gold, which makes it more durable and resistant, providing a higher quality and longer-lasting finish compared to lower karatages. We make gold vermeil, which is a thick layer (at least 2.5 microns) of gold plating over sterling silver. Our gold vermeil is a thick layer of 18-karat gold plating, resulting in a durable and higher-quality gold finish.
If you want to gain an understanding of materials, you would be very aware of where they come from, how they are described, sold and marketed. You would be very aware of the beads and jewelry findings and stringing materials and tools, their qualities, when they are useful and when they are not, and what happens to them when they age. You would be very aware of what country the material is made or found in, how the material is manufactured, synthesized or gotten at, if it is modified or changed in any way, and how it comes to market. You would be very aware if the product is sold at different levels of quality, even if this is not differentiated on the product’s label. It is also important to be very aware how any of these aspects of the material have changed over time, or might change over time in the future.
